Rick Klau tells us in K-Log Pilot Recap about a 30 day trial with project blog's using Radio at his company, a 125-person software company based in Chicago, Illinois developing CRM software for the professional services market (law firms, consulting firms, investment banks, etc.).
...
The goals were
- roll-out to 12 desktops
- custom look&fell to the CI of the company intranet
- meet & coach individually with each participant
- decide whether to purchase licenses for initial team.
- decide whether to purchase licenses for broader group within the company
A very interesting note about the co-relation and co-existence of intranet(blog), indiv-app(defect tool) and mail lines out that it was not clear in the 3rd week (75% of trial) how to announce important things... rule: create a priority-guideline FIRST
Finding out that 30 days is much to short for the introduction of a revolution in the work-process & communication is an obvious result. I agree with 90 days as a minimum trial period
The integration into a very well known tool - namely Outlook - seems very important, as additional tools don't have the same priorities... NewsGator would be a nice approach but is currently a read-only tool... too bad.. that would definitaley not encourage active posting to the project blog.
All together - amazing report...
